Quality of life

BAM is developing part of the Latitude site, to create a major build to rent (BTR) scheme, providing 463 residential apartments.

The development – known as Latitude 53.8, in honour of the city’s position on the Earth’s vertical axis – will consist of two separate blocks of 21 and 17 storeys are being built on a shared podium and amenity block. Many of the apartments will enjoy fantastic views over the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the River Aire: the blocks are less than a minute’s walk from attractive riverside paths.

Residents in the new development will have access to shared garden spaces and terraces, as well as two exceptional private rooftop lounges and roof terraces. On the ground floor, a glazed gymnasium and wellness suite are planned, as well as stunning double-height reception lobbies.

The front and back of house facilities for the blocks are being specifically designed for optimum operational efficiency.

In the heart of the city

53.8 will sit alongside BAM’s office developments at the Latitude site.

Latitude Red is an eight-storey BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rated office building of
120,000 sq ft, which is already home to the Yorkshire Post and others. BAM has two more schemes in the pipeline at the same location: Latitude Yellow (157,000 sq ft) and Latitude Blue (119,000 sq ft).

The site is just a few minutes from many of the city’s other most prestigious office facilities, as well as HMRC’s new Government Super Hub, which is set to employ around 6,000 staff by the end of 2019.

Leeds railway station is less than 10 minutes away on foot, and residents will have easy access to the fashionable cafés, restaurants and bars of Tower Square and the Granary Wharf leisure facilities.
