Our People

James was appointed as Chief Executive of BAM Construct UK in January 2018.

​James joined BAM in 1985 and has worked his way up from General Foreman. Before joining the Board in 2015, James led our construction business in the North East for nine years.

He is a strong advocate of digital construction and developing BAM’s whole lifecycle approach to help clients to manage their estates efficiently and sustainably. He is also lead sponsor of the drive for greater diversity and inclusion in BAM.

James is a member of the management board of Royal BAM Group along with the nine other operating companies in the Group and the members of Royal BAM Group's Executive Board.

The fifth generation of his family to work in the built environment, James believes construction is in his genes.
