Our multidisciplinary design  studio brings together experienced architects, structural, civil and building services engineers,  landscaping specialists and assessors to help ensure that great ideas become highly effective buildings and infrastructure projects: putting sustainability front and centre.

What we do

A RIBA and ACE registered practice, we work across the commercial, education, science, justice, residential and heritage sectors. 

• Executive architect
  We work with concept architects to transform their design intent into practical, cost-efficient reality: we thrive on bringing even the most radical and imaginative schemes to life
• Structural and civil engineering
  Although most of our work covers RIBA stage 3-7, we support projects across all RIBA design stages. Our unique perspective and experience means we can identify the best structural solution to meet the design and construction demands of each scheme
• Building services engineering
  Our design teams draw on the lived experience of our services engineering experts as they install and maintain key mechanical and electrical services: the heart and lungs of every building
• Digital information management and modelling
  Expert information management and document set-up plays a vital up-front role: ensuring projects meet BIM level 2 standards as well as our client’s own BIM requirements
• Design for agile working
  We create flexible workplaces that put users at the heart of the project, creating environments that actively promote productivity, wellbeing and team working
• Building physics and energy modelling
  How will your building perform in terms of heating and cooling, lighting and ventilation? How can you maximise energy efficiency, control operating costs and meet challenging carbon reduction targets? BAM’s specialist building physics engineers and dynamic modelling team use industry-leading tools and processes to optimise building parameters, help our clients plan ahead and accurately map how their new buildings will perform
• Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA)
  We’re at the forefront when it comes to using design tools and data to develop more efficient, often standardised construction processes. In the DfMA approach, elements of the building are created in a manufacturing environment rather than on site, to more standard designs and specifications. This approach uses less energy and carbon, is safer and creates less waste. And in turn, it delivers buildings that not only meet their occupants’ needs more successfully, but are also easier and more cost-effective to operate and maintain
• Visualisations, animations and immersive experiences
  Our award-winning team helps people experience buildings and environments before they’re built: using advanced 3D, animation and gaming tools, we allow clients, users and the public to really understand spaces and make sure they’re fit for purpose. We’ve also developed apps to help users make the most of their environments
