Building and enhancing landmark spaces across the UK & Ireland

Delivering a building that truly performs – for people, the planet and the bottom line – has never been more complex. But it’s also a huge opportunity to deliver innovative new ways of living and working for all your stakeholders.

This could be anything from building a Passivhaus school where young people thrive, to a leisure centre that boosts community wellbeing or an entertainment venue that brings a town centre back to life.

But when it comes to designing adaptable spaces for a fast-changing world, there are so many pressures: meeting your sustainability targets, keeping costs under control (not just in terms of capital investment but also operating costs), achieving digital integration, engaging local communities…

They’re all challenges that we understand, because we face them alongside you. From the very first conversation, we’re listening to your goals, priorities and constraints, so we can work together to shape the right approach that translates the vision you have for your project into reality. No surprises.

It’s this collaborative approach that makes BAM different. It’s why 98% of our clients say they’d work with us again. It’s our ability to transform complexity into clarity and to find creative but practical ways to deliver lasting value.

Across the UK and Ireland, we’ve brought ideas to life through technical excellence and sustainable design for decades: to create buildings that inspire, perform and stand the test of time.

What we do

BAM constructs, refurbishes, extends and repurposes buildings from our network of offices across the UK and Ireland. Our expertise and experience cover all the key sectors of the economy: from education and health to commercial and cultural projects, from the iconic to the functional.

We’re committed to supporting you across the whole project lifecycle: from design to handover and on to the operation, maintenance and decommissioning of assets.

On every project, our approach starts by offering:

  • Modern construction methods: using integrated modular and offsite techniques to improve quality, deliver projects in shorter timescales and cut waste
  • Proactive project management and early collaboration: engaging with you, your stakeholders and design teams from the start – to align objectives, and control risks, costs, timescales and programme deliverables – so we can deliver your project safely and predictably, even in complex environments
  • End-to-end technical expertise: combining our core construction know-how with award-winning in-house design, building and services engineering, ground engineering and energy solutions to deliver coordinated, efficient projects. Explore our full range of services here.
  • Digital innovation: using BIM and digital twin technology to enhance accuracy, coordination and whole-life asset performance.
  • Sustainability by design: embedding low-carbon materials, renewable technologies and circular principles into every stage of delivery. Find out how sustainability and social value drive our approach

A large proportion of what we do is delivered through leading central and local government frameworks. We manage our frameworks centrally through a dedicated team, but deliver locally, working closely with our clients, stakeholders and local communities to meet their specific needs.

It’s a win-win approach. Our clients can focus on what’s best for them and their stakeholders, instead of spending time and money on long and complex procurement processes. But these long-term client relationships are also an opportunity for us to invest more in the most sustainable solutions for communities, economies and the planet.

“We’re delighted with the new post-16 building at President Kennedy School. This purpose-built space has been delivered to a fantastic specification and has provided high-quality learning spaces for our students and staff. Working with BAM was easy, as their professionalism and communication was excellent.”

Neil Clayton
former Head Teacher, President Kennedy School

“The BAM team took a constructive, ‘can do’ approach and the quality of the end product is there for all to see. The employees are delighted, and customers and visitors have been universally impressed.”

Rob Robson
Vice President, Human Resources, TATA Technologies HQ Europe

“BAM did an excellent job of keeping disruption to a minimum. They were aware that they were part of a busy hospital environment and always behaved in a professional, helpful and courteous way. They kept us informed of anything likely to affect the day-to-day running of our vascular lab lists. We have nothing but praise for the whole team.”

Anne Wilcox
Head of Vascular Laboratory, Aintree University Hospital

“Buildings are central to people’s lives. The quality of what people experience in a building depends on the quality of the people involved in designing, developing, constructing and maintaining it.”
