Bruce was appointed to the board of BAM Construction in 2016 as Regional Director for Scotland.

Bruce graduated from Edinburgh University in 1988 and worked for the major projects division of an international contractor as a  graduate Quantity Surveyor prior to joining BAM in 1992 as a Project Surveyor. He has subsequently held every commercial role in the business, building a track record in early contractor involvement and partnering projects, before becoming the Commercial Director for Scotland in 2009. During that time he has worked on several UK group business initiatives including the Design Management Full Potential Programme and the SAP Aristoteles project. In 2006 he was awarded a Master’s Degree in Construction Law which was sponsored by BAM.

After representing Tier 1 Main Contractors on the Scottish Government Construction Procurement Review consultation group, Bruce was invited to join Construction Scotland’s Industry Leadership Group in 2015. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Edinburgh School of Architecture since 2008 and sits on the board of the Scottish Contractors Group.

Bruce is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (and a Licensed LTA tennis coach).
