BAM Properties is to redevelop a prominent city centre site at 110 Queen St. Formerly a major bank branch and cash centre, this 50,000sq.ft building was vacated some time ago and was sold with the benefit of a planning consent for major redevelopment.

BAM Properties plans to reappraise the plans for the site with a view to developing a landmark office led building with a significant retail element.   Michael Smart, BAM Properties’ Development Director (Scotland & North England), said: 'we are delighted to have secured this superb site.  It has great potential to create an outstanding major office and retail development in the heart of Glasgow city centre. This continues the company's long track record of large scale speculative development in Glasgow.

Audrey Dobson, Senior Director at CB Richard Ellis, who acted for the seller added - 'positively for Glasgow, our marketing of the site generated very significant interest for a variety of uses. Our clients are delighted to have achieved this sale to one of the UK's best known developers'.   Phil Reid of Phil Reid Associates, who advised BAM Properties Ltd, commented - 'this is such an exciting genuinely prime site in Glasgow and a great opportunity to be involved with the development of a major stand-out building in this thriving part of the city centre'
