Application to become a subcontractor

Thank you for your interest in becoming a sub-contractor to BAM. We will log your details carefully and we will be in touch if a suitable opportunity arises for which we would like you to tender.

We have four categories of preferred subcontractor

  1. Category one subcontractors work frequently with BAM. They meet our most stringent standards and we have agreed terms and conditions with them. Category one suppliers have audits and annual review meetings and we work together to achieve continuous improvement.
  2. Category two subcontractors have started to work closely with BAM on a regular basis. A good relationship of trust is developing. After a few years, most will start to work towards category one status.
  3. Category three subcontractors have worked more than once with BAM but a close working relationship is still being developed. If they want to develop the relationship further they have to be endorsed by a senior BAM manager.
  4. Category four is the entry point. These are subcontractors which have approached BAM to be considered for tenders, have been assessed by us and have been placed on our database for consideration for future tenders.

Step 1 of 3: Do you meet our requirements?

If you are a subcontractor and want to be considered by BAM as a category four subcontractor (see above), you must:

  • Comply with our health and safety standards including mandatory gloves and visors
  • Comply with our environmental procedures
  • Comply with our employment of labour policy and procedures and our other policies
  • All operatives who work on our sites must hold a current CSCS card (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme) or equivalent scheme
  • All supervisors must have received two days health and safety training as a minimum, provided by Construction Skills or an affiliated training provider
