BAM is a Sunday Times 'Best company to work for'

In 2008, BAM Construct UK, under its former name of HBG UK, achieved a ‘first class’ one-star rating in the Sunday Times ‘Best Companies’ survey. In 2009, we aspired to three-star accreditation. Instead, we jumped past two and three stars and made it onto the top 100 list of the 'Best companies to work for' in the mid-sized category.

Best Companies uses a staff survey and company questionnaire to assess the companies applying for accreditation and for the best companies list.

Following up last year's one star with a position on the top 100 list is an extraordinary achievement and is an excellent indicator of our employee satisfaction. BAM is proud of its employee retention. Our ‘churn’ rate is only 8% per year, which is low compared to the UK construction industry average of 17-18%.

This gives us an advantage over our competitors and we want to keep it that way. Gaining a place on the Best Companies top 100 list allows us to benchmark our performance against UK industry as a whole. Our aspiration now is to stay there indefinitely and improve our ranking with each passing year.
