Responsible sourcing

Supplier engagementIn 2010, BAM Construct UK procured nearly 80 per cent of its turnover through our supply chain. Achieving zero harm on all our sites, improving energy efficiency, reducing waste, and providing local employment and apprenticeships, all rely on effective collaboration with our supply chain.

There is always a balance to be struck between working with long term partners who meet our needs in terms of cost, quality, safety and environmental goals, and supporting local subcontractors and suppliers. Localism is increasingly important for our clients. We support a range of local procurement initiatives, from open days to ‘fit to compete’ workshops on many of our projects. We work with local partners to support local employment, skills development and apprentice placements.

Smarter working with our supply chain means pooling expertise and resources. Creating opportunities that lead to innovation ultimately creates value for our clients.
