This £33 million retail and residential regeneration project will transform Shirley town centre in the West Midlands.

BAM will build a 7,900 sq m ASDA supermarket and about 20 retail units.

The Parkgate project will bring leading retailers to the town, creating jobs, increased footfall through the shopping district and a better experience for shoppers.

A new gyratory system and an underground car park with 600 spaces will make the town centre much more accessible for residents and visitors.

We will also deliver improvements to community facilities including Shirley Park, the Royal British Legion, First Shirley Scout Group headquarters and Shirley Baptist Church.

The construction project got underway in July 2012 after almost eight years of planning challenges. It is due for completion by Easter 2014.

BAM has worked with Solilhull Council on all subcontractor vacancies, giving local firms the opportunity to work on this important scheme for the town.
